2 year Research Fellow position is available from January 2010 at RC Microsystems and Nanotechnology, Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuania. Position is funded by EU FP7 REGPOT program and involves extensive collaboration with Western European twinning partner institutions. Successful candidate will have a leading role in a project aimed at developing the methods for synthesis, characterisation of self-assembling supramolecular biomimetic materials and investigation of their possible integration for sensor applications. Essential requirements for candidate include: PhD degree in chemistry, biochemistry or material science; at least 2 years of relevant postdoctoral research experience; excellent proficiency in chemical synthesis and analysis methods; good publication record in recognised journals. Knowledge of Raman spectroscopy and/or micromachining techniques is desirable but not essential. Candidate should have excellent spoken and written English, be self-motivated, able to work in team and have demonstrated ability to work independently. Experience of studying or conducting research abroad and participation in international research projects is an advantage.
